Web hosting review needed.? I'm considering signing up for Yellowpipe web hosting. Is there a way to compare web hosts with an impartial bias? Can anyone have a look at their features and give a review? I like their look as well, my friend says they're very nice support team. Regarding the space and trafic they offer, I'm fine with it, I need very little space. I do NOT need to be pointed to a myriad of other hosting company, I need info/review of this one: Yellowpipe web hosting. (http://www.yellowpipe.com)
Do you need a NZ web hosting company for NZ website? Do you? Most of my site visitor are going to be New Zealanders, so I am guessing using a NZ web hosting company will make my site load faster? But I find alot of US based web hosting companies offering dirt cheap hosting plans as well as unlimited disk space etc which is superior comparing to NZ hosting companies, can someone with experience help me out here?
Good site for comparing web-hosting services? Especially price, OS, space, transfer, scripting (PHP, ASP, Perl, Python and/or Ruby), number of databases, cPanel/Fantastico, shell-login, ... Of course if anybody knows of a good host, that would be good too... I prefer Linux/Unix... with PHP... preferbly unlimited space and transfer... unlimited subdomains... unlimited emails... unlimited number of (MySQL) databases... cPanel -- and preferbly Fantastico... Having Perl and/or Python -- and perhaps in addition Ruby -- would be great... It would also be great to have a shell-account... I already have a domain-name.
Can someone explain to a dummy how much space and/or how large is 20 MG for a web site? I am comparing web hosting & site building companies and would like to get an idea of approx how many web pages or how many telephone yellow pages 20 MG would actually take up. Thanks for your help. I am comparing web hosting & site building companies and would like to get an idea of approx how many web pages or how many telephone yellow pages (for example) 20 MG would actually take up. The pics & graphics will not be unusually large.
web hosting? Does anybody can offer a best web hosting information site that contain detailed web hosting plans feature? I had found some, but all those web hosting sites only list a little general feature, space, bandwidth, price... It's hard to compare those web hosting plans or review all those web hosting companies one by one. so more detailed web hosting plans information is appreciate.
How come E-commerce hosting plan only offer 50mb web space while Personal offers 50gb? I am signing up to get online web-hosting and is a bit confuse on why there is so much difference in web-space when you compare the e-commerce plan with the personal plan. The e-commerce plan cost about $9 per month and offers 50mb of web-space. The personal plan however offers 50gb of web-space and cost about $2 per month. Why is there such a difference in price and space? I'm new to this internet thing so please excuses me it I sound silly for asking such question. Thanks..
Is there a site that allows you to buy & maintain multiple domain names and have free web hosting as well? I am looking to buy some domain names, but would like to purchase them from the same place that will host them. Is there a site out there that will allow me to purchase my domain names and get free hosting for them as well? I have already found bravehost, but would like to compare it with other similar sites. I have not been able to find any. Does anyone know of where I might be able to purchase domain names and get free hosting as well?
Why no web hosting service tells me how fast my site is likely to be on their servers? I want to find a host which will load my site on my customers' computers the fastest. I realize there are many factors which can affect the speed but still I think web host companies should at least give me a list of sample e-commerce sites for each of their plans, so I can see how the different plans compare in speed. Hosts don't even talk about speed, just disk space and bandwidth. Why? I thought loading speed of a site was the most important thing. If it will load slowly, who cares how much space or bandwidth I have? I cannot determine which thing counts the most: server specs or connection speed? Every host lists server specs but very very few mention connection speed. How do I compare hosts then if I want to know who is fastest? Is there any website or tool to test or at least get some idea of how fast a host is likely to be? Is it ping time of their home site? Also, please list the URLs of some fastest hosts and please back your opinion with relevant metrics.
Free web hosting options? Does anybody know of a resource or website that compares the free web hosting site (like Webs.com, Weebly.com, etc) features? I'm particularly wondering about comparing the amount of storage these sites offer.
Who provides the better website hosting service with template and web design software: Homestead or Yahoo? I am doing some consulting marketing for a family member and they want to have a website that they can easily customize when necessary. Two website services that caught my eye were Homestead.com and Yahoo.com. Both of them provide templates to build websites off of, both have simple software for design purposes, and both seem to offer e-mail and domain names. Although I could personally use website design software like Dreamweaver, I want my family member to be able to make simple changes without my help, thus why I am interested in one of these sites compared to other web hosting sites like GoDaddy.com. Of these two that have templates and web design software, who would you choose? Please provide a little comparison to justify your recommendation. Thank you for your Help. Although I appreciate the help thus far, I would like for contributors to focus on the question; for instance, if you are going to recommend a separate site other than the two I asked about please tell me why you prefer that one over the mentioned ones. Thank you
Looking for a WEB HOSTING company, any suggestions? Hello everyone! I am looking for a new web hosting server and I have had a lot of information but not much helpful critics. I heard of HOST MONSTER as an excellent alternative, and my boss wanted register.com, but they really cant compare to what Host Monster offers. I am almost convinced of going for host monster, but does anyone have any comments or suggestions on the later or any other web hosting companies? Are they reliable and most of all, easy to deal with in case something happens? Cheers and Thanks!
Which web hosting company is best? http://www.daylon.com/hosting/ That site is comparing 2 host - Midphase and Powweb. Both have similar plans.....but which one do you think is the best?
I need a web hosting solution fast!? hi, godaddy seems to be a good choice when talking about web hosting, but what kind of control panel do they offer? Can someone tell me about their control panel? Some pictures or streaming video would help. Thanks. What do you guys think of dot5hosting compared to godaddy and even hostmonster. Thanks
Which is most user-friendly UK web-host for small website.? Hi I'm shortly to go and do some long-term voluntary work abroad and want to set up a website that can provide some basic information and me and my projects (just a few pages). In time I may like to add more interactive features, maybe contact forms, daily diary (is this a blog?) and some way for people to donate (paypal?). I want full control over what's on each page, and would find it interesting to be able to view statistics. I don't know if this is done through the webhost or if I need to sign up to another service. I will create the site either through Serif webplus, or by writing the xhtml/css/javascript in notepad (I have done this previously for a project). Although I can do this scripting I know nothing about actually buying a domain/using a host. I've tried to research, and so I do understand the principles involved (such as having enough bandwith and space etc) I am overwhelmed by the choice. I keep finding a host that sounds good, and then looking up reviews and finding hundreds of negative comments. As I will not have much time spare, I need something very simple and user-friendly that won't go wrong. Preferably with very accessible stats. I'm also concerned with the recession that I don't want to go with a company likely to go bust and make my site inaccessible. I assume a UK host would be best as at least then I'm charged locally and not as affected by changes in currency exchange rates. I'm happy to pay for a decent service. I would also like to know if web-hosting is always done by the site I buy the domain from. Any opinions, or links to sites that compare the hosts, would be gratefully received on any aspect of the above. Especially views from people that have used the web-host - not just advertising. Thanks for your time.

Web sites as Internet’s life forms: Evolution or Intelligent Design? Hi, I have a question. If we could compare Internet to Nature, and web sites to organisms, then do you see any evidence for evolution? Natural selection being main mechanism of evolution, suggests that competition for survival and reproduction leads to passing advantageous traits to the next generations. At the other hand, intelligent design suggests that certain features of living things are better explained by intelligent cause. It would make sense that only features and technologies and even trends would lead to more and more advanced "life forms". My question is: if this is true, then what are the evidences? IMO it looks like free web hosting and illegal Photoshop and Dreamweaver are the natural selection killers. And it also looks like such redundant features as reflections, glass buttons, splatters, torn paper and masking tape backgrounds, flowing ink and circular ornaments, all cap lettering and other design elements are the ones surviving and reproducing like it's going out of ...going out of style.

My parents think everyone I talk to on MSN etc, are paedophiles, how can I convince them otherwise? I have a sizeable contact list with about 99% of people I know from school, but the other 1% really worries my parents. I was after web hosting, and one of the people I met off PlaneShift, offered me cheapish hosting compared to what I was prepared to pay, however my parents will have nothing of it, even though he lives in another country and I'm safe around the internet. Please someone help me, its a bit annoying that I can't talk to anyone who doesn't know me in person. My friends have people on their list from other countries and their parents are okay as long as they dont give out personal details, which I dont do anyway. Can someone help me out a bit? Okay, thanks for the quick response, I'd like to point out that I know that this guy is in another country, I have a tracer and I checked his IP, its checks out that he's in Spain. And technically, the definition of a paedophile is someone who asks you for details about yourself, the most he knows is my first name, and that is that. So can you really class that as a possible paedophile? I'll repeat it, I have a tracer, and I have an addon to my MSN that locates the person I am chatting to. Both confirm the same thing. I even have the telephone number of his ISP from the network data my tracer got.

Does anyone know a free website builder? I know you can't get much for free but if you guys know more than I do, please let me know. I did the Bravenet thing but the layouts suck, its just getting old. Is there any other free website builders out there that would compare to Bravenet and has free web hosting also? Thanks for your help. The website would just be a personal website but I want to be able to add html if I want and have a few pages and have decent templetes. TY
Is there a network genius out there who really undersand network throughput and connection speeds? I want to have a Java-based website or two. There are two options for me. Either get a dedicated server from a hosting company (I have one in mind), or run a web server from my appartment. The hosting people seem to be unable to tell me too much. They say "you get 100Mbps", but it seems that this is the connection "at the switch port" (maybe from the server to the switch), so I don't know what this number really means. I checked out several ISPs such as Comcast, AT&T, Verizon. It seems that a regular T1 is about 1.5 Mbps. From what I got from the Wikipedia, these are 24 voice channels. Each one is 64 Kbps. What does that mean? Why would I need 24 channels? Is this faster than what I have right now (regular cable) if I have only one computer running with my web server on it? How does a T1 compare to what the hosting company offers. The connection speed that my coputer shows me is 100Mbps. Probably this is Ethernet connection, though. What are all these connection speeds? Thank you.

Please tell me if this English short text need to be edited or not? I want to put it on my website. Thanks? Where Can I Get Started? How Much Does It Cost? First, take into consideration that web hosting is a global service, it is not important you are located in Au, UK, Ca, US or Philippines. And you should know the cost of hosting services in UK & Au generally is a little high in compared with the same services in CA & US. Specially, American web hosts offer much better value for money than any local hosting. If you want to start your website we recommend get your domain and web hosting plan from the same company. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some web hosting services offer this gift today. Moreover, these web hosts usually offer free Site Builder. By using each of mentioned services, everything you need for setting up your website is provided in one hosting package.
What is the deal with open source technologies? Are they really free? Take for example the scripting languages php and asp.net. Php, as we all know, is an open source technology (free). However, isn't asp.net free as well? After all, you can download its development environment for free (Visual Web Developer). True, web hosting companies will usually charge you a bit more for an account hosting asp.net but they still charge you for an account hosting php. You can also find free asp.net tutorials online. So maybe I am missing something here but I don't see it, what makes php free when compared to asp.net? Are open source technologies really free when compared to their "non-free' counterparts?
How do you feel about " To Catch a Predator" on NBC? 1. Advertisers Wary of ‘To Catch a Predator’ NBC’s sting-operation segments “To Catch a Predator” have scored solid ratings and created positive buzz among viewers, but the network appears to be scaling back its commitment to the program — because the content reportedly makes advertisers uneasy. So far this year NBC has filmed only one sting operation for the program — which airs as a segment of its “Dateline NBC” newsmagazine — compared with seven last year. The most recent episode, on July 25, included six national spot ads, significantly fewer than normal for a show in NBC’s prime time, according to The New York Times. “Some advertisers say they are wary of being associated with the show’s content, in which men lured to a house by the promise of a sexual encounter are instead surprised by [host Chris] Hansen and then arrested,” the Times reports. And Andy Donchin, a director at the ad agency Carat USA, told the Times: “We’re all concerned with what content we’re associating ourselves with.” The program’s producers work with a pedophile watchdog group, Perverted Justice, whose members pose as underage Internet users and converse with adults in chat rooms. If a conversation turns sexual, the “underage” Web surfer agrees to meet the adult in person. When the adult arrives at the meeting place, he is confronted by Hansen and a film crew and arrested by local police. The program — which first aired in November 2004 — is currently facing two lawsuits, one stemming from a suicide. Perverted Justice maintains that Louis Conradt, a prosecutor in Terrell, Texas, engaged in sexual conversations online, but he did not show up at the meeting place. Police obtained an arrest warrant, and as officers and “Predator” crewmembers approached his home, Conradt shot himself in the head on Nov. 5, 2006. His sister filed a lawsuit against NBC in July, seeking $105 million in damages. In the other suit, former “Dateline” producer Marsha Bartel asserted that she was fired because she opposed what she called the program’s unethical production practices. She contends that Perverted Justice did not keep accurate transcripts of the online conversations between the predators and the watchdog group’s members. Brian Montopoli of the CBS News Public Eye blog — and a former staffer at the Columbia Journalism Review — has maintained that the program is in some cases a form of entrapment. He has also argued that while legal punishment of predators is left to police and prosecutors, airing the suspects on national television is already a form of punishment that the media has no right to inflict. In addition to the bad publicity and advertiser reticence, “Predator” is also expensive to produce, according to the Times. Regarding the network’s seeming reluctance to commit to the show, Brad Adgate, senior vice president for research at the ad-buying agency Horizon Media, told the Times: “NBC’s probably thinking about what their return on investment is, and might be thinking it’s better to move on.”
Why do people choose to ignore sexism but lives to talk race in relation to Obama? I will not miss that "The only reason why she's a New York Senator, the reason why she's a cadidate for president, the reason why she may be a front runner is because her husband messed around" according to Chris Mathews. I will not miss seeing advertisements for T-shirts that bear the slogan "Bros before Hos." The shirts depict Barack Obama (the Bro) and Hillary Clinton (the Ho) and they are widely sold on the Internet. I will not miss walking past airport concessions selling the Hillary Nutcracker, a device in which a pantsuit-clad Clinton doll opens her legs to reveal stainless steel thighs that, well, bust nuts. I won't miss television and newspaper stories that make light of the novelty item. I won't miss episodes like the one in which the liberal radio personality Randi Rhodes called Clinton a "big f---in' whore" and said the same about former vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro. Rhodes was appearing at an event sponsored by a San Francisco radio station, before an audience of appreciative Obama supporters -- one of whom had promoted the evening on the presumptive Democratic nominee's official campaign Web site. I won't miss Citizens United Not Timid (no acronym, please), an anti-Clinton group founded by Republican guru Roger Stone. Political discourse will at last be free of jokes like this one, told last week by magician Penn Jillette on MSNBC: "Obama did great in February, and that's because that was Black History Month. And now Hillary's doing much better 'cause it's White B---- Month, right?" Co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski rebuked Jillette. I won't miss political commentators (including National Public Radio political editor Ken Rudin and Andrew Sullivan, the columnist and blogger) who compare Clinton to the Glenn Close character in the movie "Fatal Attraction." In the iconic 1987 film, Close played an independent New York woman who has an affair with a married man played by Michael Douglas. When the liaison ends, the jilted woman becomes a deranged, knife-wielding stalker who terrorizes the man's blissful suburban family. Message: Psychopathic home-wrecker, be gone. The airwaves will at last be free of comments that liken Clinton to a "she-devil" (Chris Matthews on MSNBC, who helpfully supplied an on-screen mockup of Clinton sprouting horns). Or those who offer that she's "looking like everyone's first wife standing outside a probate court" (Mike Barnicle, also on MSNBC). But perhaps it is not wives who are so very problematic. Maybe it's mothers. Because, after all, Clinton is more like "a scolding mother, talking down to a child" (Jack Cafferty on CNN). When all other images fail, there is one other I will not miss. That is, the down-to-the-basics, simplest one: "White women are a problem, that's -- you know, we all live with that" (William Kristol of Fox News). I won't miss reading another treatise by a man or woman, of the left or right, who says that sexism has had not even a teeny-weeny bit of influence on the course of the Democratic campaign. To hint that sexism might possibly have had a minimal role is to play that risible "gender card." Most of all, I will not miss the silence. I will not miss the deafening, depressing silence of Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean or other leading Democrats, who to my knowledge (with the exception of Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland) haven't uttered a word of public outrage at the unrelenting, sex-based hate that has been hurled at a former first lady and two-term senator from New York. Among those holding their tongues are hundreds of Democrats for whom Clinton has campaigned and raised millions of dollars. Don Imus endured more public ire from the political class when he insulted the Rutgers University women's basketball team. Would the silence prevail if Obama's likeness were put on a tap-dancing doll that was sold at airports? Would the media figures who dole out precious face time to these politicians be such pals if they'd compared Obama with a character in a blaxploitation film? And how would crude references to Obama's sex organs play? There are many reasons why Clinton is losing the nomination contest, some having to do with her strategic mistakes, others with the groundswell for "change." But for all Clinton's political blemishes, the darker stain that has been exposed is the hatred of women that is accepted as a part of our culture.
Does it surprise you that Democrats are trying to take credit for Rush Limbaugh? Limbaugh Letter Fetches $2.1 Million on eBay Rush Limbaugh appears to have the Midas touch. The conservative radio talk-show host turned an inflammatory letter written by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and signed by 41 of his fellow Democrats into a more than $4.2 million gold mine for the kids of Marines and law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty, all courtesy of eBay. The Eugene B. Casey foundation Betty Casey coughed up more than $2.1 million to be the sole owner of the letter sent to the radio host's boss demanding that Limbaugh be reprimanded for a "phony soldier" comment he made on air. Limbaugh has pledged to match whatever was paid for the letter. Limbaugh described Betty Casey, a trustee of the foundation, as a loyal listener to his show. “She gives significant sums to hospitals, hospices, colleges and private schools,” Limbaugh said during his radio show Friday afternoon, just after the eBay auction ended. “Betty has been a listener to my program since its inception, and we can't thank her enough for her support. This was kind of the last straw for her, what Harry Reid did here.” The letter, sent by Reid and signed by his Democratic colleagues, was delivered Oct. 2 to Mark P. Mays, president of Clear Channel, the parent company of the conservative talk show host’s radio broadcast. Click here to read the letter sent by Reid to Clear Channel's Mark Mays. In exchange for the $2.1 million, the Maryland-based Eugene B. Casey Foundation, will receive the letter, the Halliburton briefcase in which the letter is secured 24 hours a day, a letter of thanks from Limbaugh and a picture of him announcing the auction at a speech in Philadelphia last week. The foundation released the following statement on acquiring the letter: "The Eugene B. Casey Foundation believes freedom of speech is a basic right of every citizen of this country. Their purchase of the smear letter was to demonstrate their belief in this right and to support Rush Limbaugh, his views and his continued education of us." Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Maine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, a nonprofit that gives scholarship assistance to children of Marines and federal law enforcement personnel whose parents die in the line of duty. Limbaugh has denied the term "phony soldiers" referred to former servicemen and women who served in Iraq and now oppose the war, but to those who lied about their service. A literal reading of the Sept. 26 show in question shows that the controversial host did not say that soldiers opposing the war are "phony." On his Friday radio show, Limbaugh said Reid’s letter was an “abuse of power against a private citizen.” “Harry Reid in a speech on the Senate floor at 12 noon today, a little over an hour ago, attempted to hone in on all this and take some credit for it, claiming that he and I had buried the hatchet, or implying that that had been the case, and then kept using the pronoun "we" in discussing how good this was, the money going to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation,” Limbaugh said on his show. “Three words, that means, ‘Rush, you win,’” Reid told his colleagues on the Senate floor. “I asked Sen. Reid to match and all the other senators who can afford to do so. I haven't heard from them on that. I asked Sen. Reid to go on the program and discuss his discussion of me as "unpatriotic." He did not accept my offer to do that and now has the audacity to climb aboard this, praising the effort, saying that "he" never knew that it would get this kind of money. He also announced an unknown number of certified copies of the letter signed by him will be sold on for $1,000 on his Web site, with proceeds going to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. So did the foundation get their money's worth? Kieta, the vice president of AmericanMemorabilia.com who goes by only one name, said what makes the letter appealing to a buyer is all the media attention the correspondence has received, but it holds no real historical or collector value. “If you compare it to an Abraham Lincoln document, there is obviously no comparison,” Kieta said. “This is strictly a promotional marketing ploy. Historically speaking, is it a historical document? I wouldn’t categorize it as a historical document.”
Googlism-the religion of future generations? Thousands of years ago, greek 'mythology' was 100% fact, now we read about it, because it's interesting. Assuming Christianity, Islam, and Judiasim(Which is already declining ridiculously) Will be the same, will Googlism be the new cult? » PROOF #1 Google is the closest thing to an Omniscient (all-knowing) entity in existence, which can be scientifically verified. She indexes over 9.5 billion WebPages, which is more than any other search engine on the web today. Not only is Google the closest known entity to being Omniscient, but She also sorts through this vast amount of knowledge using Her patented PageRank technology, organizing said data and making it easily accessible to us mere mortals. » PROOF #2 Google is everywhere at once (Omnipresent). Google is virtually everywhere on earth at the same time. Billions of indexed WebPages hosted from every corner of the earth. With the proliferation of Wi-Fi networks, one will eventually be able to access Google from anywhere on earth, truly making Her an omnipresent entity. » PROOF #3 Google answers prayers. One can pray to Google by doing a search for whatever question or problem is plaguing them. As an example, you can quickly find information on alternative cancer treatments, ways to improve your health, new and innovative medical discoveries and generally anything that resembles a typical prayer. Ask Google and She will show you the way, but showing you is all She can do, for you must help yourself from that point on. » PROOF #4 Google is potentially immortal. She cannot be considered a physical being such as ourselves. Her Algorithms are spread out across many servers; if any of which were taken down or damaged, another would undoubtedly take its place. Google can theoretically last forever. » PROOF #5 Google is infinite. The Internet can theoretically grow forever, and Google will forever index its infinite growth. » PROOF #6 Google remembers all. Google caches WebPages regularly and stores them on its massive servers. In fact, by uploading your thoughts and opinions to the internet, you will forever live on in Google's cache, even after you die, in a sort of "Google Afterlife". » PROOF #7 Google can "do no evil" (Omnibenevolent). Part of Google's corporate philosophy is the belief that a company can make money without being evil. » PROOF #8 According to Google trends, the term "Google" is searched for more than the terms "God", "Jesus", "Allah", "Buddha", "Christianity", "Islam", "Buddhism" and "Judaism" combined. God is thought to be an entity in which we mortals can turn to when in a time of need. Google clearly fulfils this to a much larger degree than traditional "gods", as shown in the image below (click to enlarge). » PROOF #9 Evidence of Google's existence is abundant. There is more evidence for the existence of Google than any other God worshiped today. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. If seeing is believing, then surf over to www.google.com and experience for yourself Google's awesome power. No faith required. Visit www.Churchofgoogle.org for more information Obviously this is absurd, but look at your faith and compare. What do you think about the new church of google and do you see any simularities to your faith?

Why did we elect a man that believes in youth armies as president? ? It seems that all you need anymore to get into office is a good catch phrase. Just look at obama. Every single American wants change, but not very many have any idea what sort of change they just asked for. Granted, it wasn't much of a choice, but I digress. If you actually study this man you will be shocked and disgusted about what he proposes, everything from forced government conscription for all americans, old and young to a tax on a gas that everyone makes simply by being alive. The people he has sighted as mentors and the people that have worked with him call for mass extinction and enslavement of humanity 1984 (george orwell) style... And just look at his speech at the DNC this year and compare it to some of Hitlers greatest speeches and I bet you'll find quite a good amount of similarity. People don't remember that before Hitler was the worlds greatest menace, he was trumped up as it's savior. The allies funded him and congratulated him on a host of sickening things, just as the world is doing now for Mr. Obama. So why did we elect him? you can find the source of my truth at a whole bunch of websites, but the best is at infowars.com. I Bet none of you would even take the time to research any of it though. If you believe in something, you should fight for it to make it happen, you should inform yourselves, you should prepare. Times are grim indeed for the once great land of america, because we have forgotten our roots, or history. We let the bad guys win, and now we're all too trapped in their web of corruption to get out without great loss of life, but freedom is worth any cost, except maybe family. Inform yourselves and choose your side, because in the real world, once you wake up, there isn't liberal and republican and democrat and Conservative, there is only freedom or tyranny. I'd think the choice is obvious...
How good is Joomla compared to using an "editor" (Bluefish?)for a Rookie Newbie ? I have used a WYSIWYG web builder with a free Brinkster acct(VERY AWESOME FREE HOST) but now i got a acct w/ Dreamhost and i want to put up a business selling Western wear and other Cowboy gear, Saddles, tack, art, etc.I have messed around on W3 schools website learning HTML for awhile now. I even downloaded a editor Bluefish that seems to be kind of nice. And i use firefox so i grabbed an ext. called ftp that i'm thinking will work perfect, if not please tell me so. Also I want to know how easy it will be to go back and little by little swap the Joomla template w/ my own pages as i learn more. But there is a high importance on getting the site up right away. So am i correct in thinking that perhaps it should help me in that area, OR NOT ? Will it be anything like using the web builder im already familiar with ? My problem has been SEO trouble because of lack of control but joomla isnt like that so i should be alright, but then whats the downside to it ? What about ads ?
can you understand this???? please help??? Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. (Nasdaq: HAYZ) today reported financial results for its fiscal year ended January 31, 2007. The results were in line with preliminary results announced on March 16, 2007 and with guidance the Company provided to investors in December 2006. For the fiscal year, the automotive and commercial highway wheels and components maker reported sales of $2.06 billion, up 5.1% from sales of $1.96 billion in the prior fiscal year. Earnings from operations were $4.8 million for fiscal 2006, compared with a year earlier loss from operations of $215.2 million, which included $185.5 million of goodwill impairment charges. Capital expenditures for the fiscal year were $80.8 million, down from $95.2 million a year earlier. The foregoing results exclude the suspension components business reported as discontinued operations, which had sales of $230 million, a loss from operations of $46.0 million and capital expenditures of $9.1 million. The Company reported a net loss of $166.9 million for fiscal 2006, compared to a net loss of $457.5 million for fiscal 2005. The Company reported a loss from continuing operations of $120.9 million, compared with a loss from continuing operations of $287.1 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA for fiscal 2006 (including the suspension components business) was $188.6 million, up 7.3% from $175.7 million a year earlier. For the full fiscal year, Hayes Lemmerz reported free cash flow of negative $9.1 million, excluding the impact of the Company's securitization program, an improvement of $71.6 million from a year earlier. "Hayes Lemmerz is a much stronger company today than it was five years ago," said Curtis Clawson, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Hayes Lemmerz. "We have significantly decreased our dependence on U.S. markets, and continue to grow our international business, especially in Asia. By divesting non-core businesses and focusing on high growth/high return markets, we are continuing to execute our strategic business plan and our drive toward profitability and positive free cash flow. Sales to GM, Ford and Chrysler in the U.S., excluding discontinued operations, now account for only about 18% of global sales. Given the extremely difficult conditions in our marketplace, our results for 2006 are encouraging." As previously announced, as part of its continuing profit-enhancing initiatives, the Company completed the sale of two aluminum suspension components plants in February 2007. "These divestitures further reduce our dependence on the North American automotive market and free us from a very capital-intensive business," said Mr. Clawson. "Our new business wins point the way toward our future. We won over $575 million in annualized sales in 2006, of which 75% is international business," Mr. Clawson said. "We continue to win with Japanese and Korean manufacturers, including Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan and Honda, both in the U.S. and internationally. We continue to win new business with our European partners, and in the U.S. markets our new business wins diversify our product mix with more crossover and passenger vehicles," he said. As previously announced, the Companys board of directors has approved a rights offering for existing shareholders, for up to $180 million of common stock. Proceeds will be used to repurchase the Companys 10.5% Senior Notes. The offering must be approved by shareholders at a special meeting scheduled for May 4, 2007. "By raising new equity capital and retiring high-cost debt, we are de-leveraging, strengthening our balance sheet and significantly improving free cash flow," Mr. Clawson commented. For the full fiscal year 2007, Hayes Lemmerz expects to achieve sales of about $2.1 billion, Adjusted EBITDA of approximately $195 to $205 million, positive free cash flow (excluding securitization impact) and capital expenditures of approximately $85 to $90 million. What is the best operating systems? There are so many operating systems available in the market that it's difficult to decide which one is the best. Search the Internet for information on the following operating systems, and draw a table that compares them in terms of scalability, ease of use, reliability, and cost: Windows 2000 Windows XP Linux In the table, rate each operating system on a scale of 1 to 3 (1 being the highest). Based on the above analysis, which operating system will you recommend for the following requirements: The finance department of XYZ Inc. has hired two trainees to work on a simple database application. Users are going to use the computer for the first time. Smart Shoppers need to use an OS with easy to use interface and have also the capability to support dual processors. A non-profit organization wants to host a Web site and needs a computer to host the Web site. They want a cost-effective solution for hosting the Web site.
Is Twitter more like a conversation or more of a bill board? I thought Twitter was supposed to be like a big chat room and if I followed someone, I would see all the tweets from that person and everyone else tweeting them - so we could have a huge conversation. But it seems that if I follow someone, it just means that I see their posts and not everyone that posts to them. I don't see the advantage in this compared to email, a web site or a blog. For example, if a radio talk show has a Twitter page, I would think that I could see posts from the host and posts from the followers, but it seems that I am only seeing posts from the host. What's the point of that? I can just go to their web page or blog to read their posts. And send them an email if I have a comment. I thought it was about having conversations. What is the intent of Twitter? Am I supposed to be able to see everyone's tweets to someone I follow, or only that person's tweets? I found that if I go to www.twitter.com, it signs into my account and takes me to my home page. There is no search box at the home page (Why not? Good question!) Anyway, I had to go to http://search.twitter.com and then search for "@someone". When using the @ sign, it gives you all the people that are posting to the "someone" person, so you get the "whole conversation"... Don't know how anyone is supposed to figure this out on their own. Twitter is not very user friendly regarding searching.

Internet Hosts? Does anyone here own a web page? If you do I am a sixteen year old coming up with my own business. So far it has been hard, but I have a basic understanding of the internet, creating a web page, and even HTML. I am having problems with a few things though. Can anyone point me to the best domain supplier and Internet host. If possible I would like you to list the best one (no matter the price) and then the best one that is at a low price. I don't have very much money to start this business, but I do want to know what the best of the best is so that I can compare it to the lower price one. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me get my business on its feet.
Will the end of free speech start with Democrats?

Obama ‘shouldn’t have said it,’ McCain insists. By Maeve Reston September 13, 2008 in print edition A-14 Taking his campaign to the daytime talk show circuit Friday, John McCain said his camp was not out of bounds when it released a Web video this week suggesting that his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, compared Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin to a pig. The controversy began Tuesday evening after Obama told the crowd at a town hall meeting in Lebanon, Va., that McCain’s efforts to present himself as an agent of change were disingenuous. Arguing that the Arizona senator does not differ from President Bush on issues such as tax policy and “Karl Rove-style politics,” Obama added: “That’s not change… . You can put lipstick on a pig, and it’s still a pig.” McCain’s surrogates expressed outrage, claiming the comment was a clear reference to Palin because she is the only candidate in the race who wears lipstick and because her signature line in her convention acceptance speech was that the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull is lipstick. During McCain’s appearance on ABC’s “The View” on Friday, co-host Joy Behar asked him why he approved a campaign Web video that showed Obama’s pig remark after a frame that read “Barack Obama on Sarah Palin.” “They’re lies,” Behar said, referring to that video and another McCain ad, about Obama’s record on sex education. “Actually, they are not lies,” McCain replied crisply. “He shouldn’t have said it,” McCain said of Obama’s pig remark. “He chooses his words very carefully, and this is a tough campaign.” McCain added that the harsh tone of the campaign would be different if the Illinois senator had accepted his invitation to appear at joint town halls across the country this summer. McCain, making a concerted effort to win over female voters, generally received a warm reception from the live audience, though he drew boos when he reaffirmed his position that the abortion rights ruling in Roe vs. Wade was “a very bad decision” that should be overturned. His appearance also offered another chance to strongly defend Palin’s experience as governor of Alaska for nearly two years and, before that, mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, for four years. “She’s ignited a spark in America,” he said. In a lighter moment, co-host Barbara Walters needled McCain about his recent statements that Palin is the greatest vice presidential candidate “in the history of the United States.” “Greater than John Adams, who became president? Greater than father George Bush who became president? That sound a little strong?” Walters asked. McCain chuckled: “Politicians are never given to exaggeration or hyperbole, as you know. But the fact is, I think she’s a great person, she’s a great governor… . I’m very happy and very pleased to have her.” He and his wife, Cindy, also taped an appearance on “Rachael Ray,” to air Sept. 22, in which he extolled his “regular guy” interests, including barbecuing – he divulged his ribs recipe, which he can cook on his four grills – and his favorite TV shows: “Lost,” “The Office” and “24.
